1. What is ATKM?
ATKM, short for "All That Korean Medicine", is an English club, based in Kyung Hee University of Korean Medical School. Geogrphically, ATKM's main base of operations rests within the school complex, which is locaed in Seoul, Korea.
2. The goal of ATKM
The more obvious goal of ATKM is to spread KM all over the world. To do that, we will be the WINDOW for the people of the world, so that anyone can come and check KM out. Furthermore, we will be the DOOR for the KM students in Korea, so that they can enter the world medical field and spread KM.
However, the ultimate goal of ATKM is much greater. By spreading KM all over the world, we hope to help those people in need, such as those suffering from chronic illness, which is not so easily cured by Western Medicine. With the spread of KM, even those people in poor countries who can't afford ridiculously expensive Western Medicine treatments will be able to maintain their health.
3. Who started ATKM? And who runs the club?
Prof. Kang Sung Keel of Kyunghee Medical Center, Dept. of acupuncture & moxibustion started the club. Ko Byung Eun, now a senior member of the club, was among the first memebers of the club and was the chairwoman until Joh Byung Jin took over. Other members of the club can be seen in the "About the site" page.
4.What we do in ATKM
Weekly regular meetings during school year
-Presentations and discussions on selected books and reading materials, which can help improve the English skill as well as the KM knowledge.
Group study meetings
-Studies on various topics and subjects, focusing heavily on KM.
Working on the newsletter
-Writing, editing, and having on/off-line meetings to present a perfect KM newsletter.
Cultural activities
-Movies, classic concerts, orchestral concerts, short trips, all to strengthen the bond between the members and develop the 'humane' side required as a doctor.
